District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT)
The Union Government created a new provision under Sec 9(B) of MM(D&R) Amendment Act, 2015 to establish a Trust as a Non-Profit Body, namely District Mineral Foundation (DMF) with an objective to work for the interest and benefit of persons and areas affected by mining related operations. Union Government while enabling the State Governments to levy, collect and apportion prescribed amount towards DMF Fund from mining leaseholders, directed the State Governments to notify the State DMF Rules to constitute a Trust in each district under Chairmanship of the District Collector and District Magistrate concerned. The rules for composition, functions and provisions for transparency and accountability of DMFs are within the purview of the State Governments.
Subsequently, Andhra Pradesh State Government vide G.O.Ms.No.42, I&C (M-II) Dept.; dt: 27.06.2015 notified to establish District Mineral Foundations in each of 13 Districts of Andhra Pradesh State, being mineral bearing Districts.

16 no. of hatcheries are established for conservation of Olive Ridley Turtles in Srikakulam District, With an estimated cost of Rs.35.2384 Lakhs.
Conservation of Olive Ridley Turtles in Srikakulam District for 16 no. of hatcheries are established in three forest ranges in Srikakulam District, with an amount of Rs.6.409 Lakhs., and every hatcheries having 3 no. of watchers for protection of Olive Ridley Turtles, Wages to protection watchers from 6 months with an amount of Rs.28.82 Lakhs. in this process 1565 no. of Nesting’s formed in 16 no. of hatcheries and total 1,80,578 Turtles Eggs are produced, further, Total 1,67,607 no. of Hatchlings realized.
